The Bhagavad-Gîtâ or "Song of the Lord" is without doubt, along with the Upanishads, one of the founding texts of Indian spirituality.
It has been constantly commented on by the greatest Indian philosophers, from Shankara, who saw in this "holy scripture" "a collection of the essential truths of the entire Vedic teaching", to the masters of the Vishnu and Shivaite traditions, and has been translated into all languages. Inserted in the great epic of the Mahâbhârata, just before the final battle, it features the warrior Arjuna and his coachman, Krishna, who will gradually reveal himself in the poem as "the God of gods", the Bhagavân, "the Lord".
The richness, conciseness and depth of its message of bravely moving beyond appearances towards Unity make this text open to a wide range of interpretations. Forged by thirty years of study and teaching, Gisèle Siguier-Sauné's interpretation places the Gîtâ in the continuity of the texts that preceded it, in order to explore its fertile originality. Thus she leads us step by step in this quest for Unity until the unveiling of liberating Love, the ultimate revelation of this unique poem.
