The SHIVA MOON yoga mat is made from a new generation of PU (eco-polyurethane). It's non-slip with both wet and dry hands. It has a frosted matte finish, making this mat more durable and dirt-resistant. No more small scratches, and you can easily clean it!
Improved wear resistance: its matte surface enhances resistance to scratches and abrasion.
Improved resistance to deformation: more resistant to pulling and creasing. Non-stick and non-marking. Very comfortable for joints, antimicrobial, and moisture-wicking, it prevents slipping with wet or dry hands.
Formaldehyde-free, non-toxic, and PVC-free, perfect for a clean practice.
The frosted matte finish and alignment design help you position yourself correctly on the mat.
Construction:
Top layer: 100% eco-polyurethane
Bottom layer: 100% rubber, antimicrobial and moisture-wicking.
It is recommended not to wear socks when using this mat, as they can be abrasive to the surface.
Dimensions: 183 cm x 68 cm x 4.0 mm Weight: 2600 g (+/- 5%)
In homage to Shiva, who is considered one of the three major deities of Hinduism, and also as the supreme deity, symbol of the universe in Hindu mythology.
And in reference to the moon, because Shiva by his legend is inseparable from the moon which keeps as a symbol the crescent moon adorning his hair.
If we chose Shiva and the moon, it is also for its mystical side.
The moon is much more present than you think in yoga. In Hatha Yoga, the Ha means sun while the moon is the Tha. It is the union between the moon and the sun, the perfect balance that yogis seek. The moon is also the feminine principle. The moon is also found in Ashtanga yoga where it is advised not to practice during the full and new moon.
Like the sun salutation, the moon salutation is a series of postures whose objective is to pay homage to the moon, at each new phase.
The moon and the sun are models of balance for human beings: finding the balance between darkness and light is at the very heart of the search for yoga.
Care instructions: Always roll the mat with the top of the mat facing outwards. Rolling in the opposite direction can damage the surface of the mat.
Wipe the top of the mat with a soft cloth after use (not a microfibre cloth as it is too abrasive). If you use a solution, apply it to the cloth first; do not apply it directly to the mat.
To protect the top of the mat, avoid applying lotions, creams or rings to your hands or feet while training.
Avoid cabinets or storage areas with sharp edges that can leave a lasting mark.
Warning:
Do not clean your mat with black soap, as it is based on olive oil and vegetable soda and can irreversibly damage your mat.
Our Shiva Moon yoga mats are plastic-free, wrapped in recycled tissue paper and a biodegradable corn starch cover.
They have been certified to CE, SGS, REACH (Regulation on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) standards,
set up by the European Union.
