Set of 16 Extra-Mat yoga mats.
Designed for intense and extended practice. This is an excellent training mat suitable for all types of yoga, particularly Iyengar and Ashtanga Yoga.
In keeping with the philosophy of yoga, this next-generation non-slip yoga mat has been developed with respect for the environment and features a textured surface.
We are delighted to offer you one of the first yoga mats made from a newly developed and patented foam, reinforced by a cotton fleece that makes it tear-resistant. No toxic materials were used in its manufacture, and it is certified Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Level 1*.
Its grippy surface is particularly appreciated in challenging poses. This yoga mat features a closed-cell construction that prevents fluid absorption, making it easy to keep clean.
Chin Mudra presents an eco-friendly mat:
• Recyclable,
• Hypoallergenic,
• Tear-resistant,
Machine washable at 30°C (no spin cycle)
185cm x 60cm x 4.6mm
This mat is not recommended for practitioners who sweat heavily. For optimal grip, we recommend a mat from our range of rubber mats.
The Extra-Mat has a very sturdy structure with a cotton core that makes it tear-resistant and features two different surfaces that can be used as desired. Designed for intense and extended use, it's an excellent training mat suitable for all types of yoga.
Important notes for use: The more you use your mat, the more slip-resistant it will become! To accelerate this process, you can also leave the mat somewhere in your home for a week and walk on it barefoot.
Machine washable at 30°C without spinning
Important care instructions:
Your mat is machine washable: Use a small amount of mild detergent and a cool wash cycle (no more than 30°C). Do not use the spin cycle. Allow it to dry completely (do not use a tumble dryer or radiator).
Avoid wringing or using your mat before it is completely dry, as this may damage the surface. You can roll your mat with a towel and squeeze out the excess water to speed up the drying process.
You can also clean your yoga mat with a damp cloth.
After 12 years of producing yoga mats using other natural materials such as rubber, Per is still our first choice. There are many reasons for this:
1. The energy required to produce a mat is an important factor in determining how beneficial a product is for the environment.
- The production of Per is economical in terms of energy consumption.
- Our Per mats are tried and tested to be durable when handled properly - much more so than TPE and rubber mats in the same circumstances. The longer a mat lasts, the less of a burden it is on nature.
2. Emissions of harmful substances during production are very low compared with most other materials, including those of natural origin.
3. Per is completely non-toxic. We check our yoga mats in our factory and subject them to independent tests. Our products are certified Öko Tex Standard 100 Level 1 tested, the highest level, guaranteeing the safe use of our products.
4. Natural rubber disintegrates very quickly under the sun and exposure to oxygen, and as with any other industrial product the addition of chemicals is necessary to make it more or less durable.
5. Unlike rubber, Per does not cause allergies.
6. The environmental issue surrounding rubber is far from resolved. Increased demand for rubber is causing accelerated deforestation of primary tropical forests, as rubber trees only grow in the tropics.
Cutting down forests for industrial crops such as rubber destroys the tropical biosphere and the living environment for many animal and plant species, which is unacceptable. The diverse vegetation in areas such as Kerala/South India and South-East Asia is being replaced by rubber monocultures. Very few plants are able to survive in the shade of rubber trees. South India, for example, is already experiencing a serious shortage of ayurvedic herbs as a result.
