The preparation ritual
To prepare your mate in an authentic way, fill your calabash 2/3 with mate. Then tilt the calabash to pack the leaves on one side. Pour a little cold water to hydrate the leaves and let sit for 2 to 3 minutes. Insert the bombilla, then add hot water (around 80°C). Let it infuse for 2 to 5 minutes to release all the flavors. All you have to do is enjoy your mate rich in aromas and benefits!
